Plants Vs Zombies is a simple strategy game for kids and adults. Popular on portable devices, but also available on the PC or Mac for $2 through Steam this weekend. Good reviews.

The game is also available on portable devices (not through Steam), such as in the app stores of Apple products, Kindle Fire, Android devices, and game console systems. While they usually charge a few dollars more than $2 for the portable versions, it can help keep some kids busy on car rides and other boring situations.

- BioShock for PC for $5. A few years ago it had some of the best reviews of any 3D first-person-shooter game of all-time. Video review. If you enjoy this kind of action/adventure game and love a good story, and haven't played BioShock, we highly recommend it at $5.
- BioShock 2 for PC for $5. Great reviews. Video review.
- Grid for PC (car racing game) for $3.75. Decent reviews.
- Hoard for PC/Mac for $2.50. Fair reviews.
- Rochard for PC for $5. Puzzle/platform game with a good review.
- L.A. Noire for PC for $12.50. Video review.
- Dead Island for PC for $20. Fair reviews.
- Might & Magic games for PC for $2.50 to $25 each, or $40 for all.
These deals are valid until around 2pm EST on Jan 1. If you miss the Bioshock & Bioshock 2 deals, there are plenty of other deals around to buy those games for around $5 each.

Another new batch of deals on computer games today through Steam.
- Civilization 5 for PC/Mac for $10.19. This is about the 3rd time it has been priced this low in 2011, and usually sells for around $25 to $30. Civilization 5 needs little introduction for anyone who loves strategy games. We started playing the Civilization series 20 years ago, and still love it, but it's not the easiest game to get into due to its massive strategy options and matches which can take a long time. Civilization is kind of like the "chess" of gaming. Of course the reviews and video review are great. Also on that page are a bunch of downloadable content (add-ons) for the game, which are only appealing to existing Civ-lovers looking for a little bit more out of the game.
- Deus Ex: Human Revolution for PC for $17. First-person-shooter game with great reviews and video review. Usually sells for at least $25.
- Super Meat Boy for PC/Mac for $3.75. Really good reviews, but a video looks kind of gory.
- Fallout: Las Vegas for PC for $5. RPG game with great reviews and video review.
- Command & Comquer games for PC for $5 to $7.50 each.
- SpaceChem for PC/Mac for $2.50, a puzzle game originally designed for the iPad.
- Grand Theft Auto games for PC from $2.50 and up, to $7.50 for the latest Grant Theft Auto 4. Note that Grand Theft Auto 5 will be released sometime in 2012.
- Chronicles of Riddick Assault on Dark Athena for $5.
- Universe Sandbox for PC for $2.50.

- Quake 4 for PC (2005) for $5.
- Men of War games for PC $3.74 to $8.74 each, or a pack with several Men of War games for $18.74.

- Hearts of Iron III for PC & Mac for $2.49 today. A great deal for a strategy game with good reviews. Also available on that page are lots of downloadable content (DLC) add-ons for PC, or available bundled with the game for $7.50 total.
- Dead Space or Dead Space 2 for PC for $5 each. These first-person-shooter games usually sell for between $10 & $20. Dead Space reviews and Dead Space 2 reviews are great.
- Machinarium for PC & Mac for $2.50. This puzzle/adventure game is a couple years old, and has good reviews.
- Dungeon Defenders for PC for $3.75. It's an Action/RPG/Tower Defense game with good reviews.
- Revenge of the Titans for PC & Mac for $2.49 today. It's a tower defense game with decent reviews.
- Tomb Raider games for $2.50 to $5 each.
- Assassin's Creed 2 for PC & Mac for $5. Reviews are good.
- Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood for PC & Mac for $13.59. Also good reviews.
- Assassin's Creed 3: Revelations for PC for $37.50. Released recently, not the greatest review though.

Usually sells for around $35 and pretty good reviews.

SteamPowered.com - F.E.A.R 3 for PC $20, or all F.E.A.R Games for $25
F.E.A.R 3 is available today for $20, or all three of the F.E.A.R games for PC for $25 and includes two F.E.A.R add-ons and a F.E.A.R 2 add-on. The game F.E.A.R 3 usually sells for around $30 by itself. These are for Windows PC only.

- Far Cry for PC for $2.50. Released in 2004 but still one of our favorite first-person-shooter games of all time. Great reviews, and if you enjoy action/shooter type games, $2.50 is well worth the price. Far Cry 2 is also available for $5, but it may be worth skipping.
- Bulletstorm for PC for $5. Action game with good reviews.
- Anomaly: Warzone Earth for PC & Mac for $2.50. Action game with good reviews.
- Bastion for PC for $5.09. Action RPG with good reviews.
- Worms games for PC & Mac for $1.24 to $5 each. The original Worms game was released in 1996, and has bad graphics by today's standards.

Defense Grid: The Awakening is on sale at Steam for $2.50 for the game, or $4 bundled with 5 add-ons. Not much to this game; you place towers and upgrade them as waves of aliens try to invade, but the game has very good reviews making it a great value at just a couple dollars.

Also on sale today is Formula 1 2011 for PC for $25, which is half what most other stores sell it for. Great reviews, and the game downloads over the Internet through Steam.
